The product has been tested without a power supply to a total distance of 30m using quality Pro2 leads.

By adding a power supply, signal can be boosted. If higher loss HDMI leads are used or long distances are required, we recommend using the 5V power supply.

Q. Why is my remote not switching between sources?
A. The HDMI5SM will only switch between active HDMI inputs. IF the HDMI source (eg. Bluray player) is off or in stand-by, it will not be recognized by the HDMI switch as a valid input.
