When installing cables, follow the IEEE-568B termination standards and use solid core cables. For runs longer than 15 meters, it’s best to use SOLID/FTP CAT5e or CAT6 cables. We’ve tested F/UTP solid CAT6 cables at 60 meters, and they work fine, but only if the cable is laid straight with no bends, kinks, interference, patch panels, or wall outlets. Most off-the-shelf CAT5/6 cables are stranded, not solid core, so they’re not ideal for long-distance runs.
This compact and simple mini HDMI extender kit allows you to extend high-definition audio and video signals from devices like Blu-ray DVD players, game consoles, and more, up to a maximum distance of 60 metres. It uses a single solid CAT5e/6 cable, making it perfect for routing through wall cavities.
