Note about USB 3.0

USB 3.0 allows transfer rates up to 4.8 Gbps – that’s 10x the speed of USB 2.0. It also provides up to 900mA power supply instead of the 500mA from USB 2.0

While USB 2.0 cables are compatible with USB 3.0 ports on your computer, you won’t achieve the SuperSpeed, error-free data transfer acheivable with USB 3.0 certified cables.

1. Load up your device manager (Start key + X then M)
2. Note the Prolific driver with the exclamation mark andright click and choose "Update Driver Software"
   
3. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software"
4. On the next screen, choose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
5. Choose the 2008 dated driver!
   
6. Hit Next, and Windows will use the correct driver and the exclamation mark will disappear.
